So You Want Your Website to Show Up on Google?

I'll start off by explaining to you what Search Engine Optimization (SEO) really is. SEO is the practice of many different techniques that search engines, like Google, take into account when ranking a website in it's search results. It takes a lot of effort to get a website to rank on the first page for a certain set of keywords or keyword phrases. Google has a complex way of determining which website will rank #1 for any given term. You should start by figuring out what you want to rank for. If you currently have a website about your Landscaping company in Louisiana, then you would want to rank for something like "Louisiana Landscaping" or "Landscaping in Louisiana". From here on, we would center your SEO Campaign around these keywords and anything similar to them.

Is it Really Worth it?

I will spare you the long list of technical terms and explanations of everything that goes into having a successful search engine ranking, but will tell you that it takes hard work and patience. What Should I Know About SEO?

The number one thing you can do as a client is pick a good domain name. Make sure it includes the keywords you want to rank for. If you are going to be selling tropical plants, then make sure your domain name contains those keywords. Examples are: TropicalPlants.com, LouisianaTropicalPlants.com, TropicalPlantsDepot.com, etc. Of course the perfect domain name may not always be available, but there is some wiggle room to make sure that you get those very important keywords included.
